Goern, God of War
Goern is the master of Wars and Destruction. His tactical mastery
and prowess at arms provided him his chance at ascension. He
defeated many creatures and demons in pursuit of the perfect fight.
It is uncertain if he had ascended at the time when he rose to fight
the One, or if he was merely looking for the last great challenge.
When the one departed, he became angry over the lost opportunity
to fight. When the mantle of War passed to him, he attempted to
take control of the pantheon. Seeing no clear path to victory, he
approached Reetah and Mordaki about joining to rule by council, as
he could see no single god gaining supremacy. He viewed them as
"weaker" gods and felt he could control them better than others.
Goern   is known to carry both a shield and a blade of some power.
The blade is a recreation of his original blade, the sword Gat’thal.
Gat’thal was broken when he fought in his last battle as a mortal.
Marus, the god of death, created the replica, called  Un’gat’thal, as
a gift. The shield was another gift, this time from the god Meshrak. It
was forged in the fires of the great furnace, and quenched in the
waters of eternity. It is called the Aegis of Eternity.
Goern appreciates the Dragons as creatures of great tactical
advantage and destructive power. His holy symbol is usually a
dragon and a blade intertwined, though dragon hilted blades often
are often a symbol of his followers.
Goern is often regarded as a facet of the “three faced god” known
as the Overlord. Many of his followers believe him to be greater than
the other gods, and wait for him to destroy the other faces and
ascend to sole supremacy.
